Stubborn Challenge

One of my Spark friends posted a blog about how being stubborn can be a good thing or a bad thing.


It got me thinking...I am stubborn. Really stubborn. Why don't I use that stubbornness for good? Good for me, of course.

So...I am giving myself a Stubborn Challenge. Starting Sunday (yes, I know I could start right now, but I'm being stubborn and I don't wanna!).

Starting Sunday, I will stubbornly choose healthy meals. I will not choose the easy way out. If I go to a restaurant, I will stubbornly choose the low calorie, healthy matter how loud that double bacon cheeseburger, French fries and fry sauce call insults to me!!

For breakfasts and lunches, I will pack healthy leftovers with veggies. I will pack healthy snacks. I will portion and weigh all of my meals and snacks. I will prepare salads to be served with dinner. That will help me eat less of the main dish. I might even try a meatless meal. Maybe.

So...wish me luck! I plan to have lost 10 pounds in the first week. Totally doable, right?

Okay...really I'm hoping for at least one (maybe two) pounds - closer to back to maintenance. And, more importantly, a better attitude about food. And get it to release it's hold on me. I won't look at going out to eat as a reason to celebrate (and overeat). I won't eat as though every meal is my last.

I know it will take more than a week. My first goal is to go one week. Then we will see how stubborn I can be.
