Day 3-Atkins-July 3

I think I'm getting the hang of things...it's day 3 (technically day 7) of my new eating regime and physically I feel stronger and have more energy. Preparing foods in advance such as roast chicken or some hard boiled eggs helps out for those times when I need a quick snack or am looking to pack a 'to-go' lunch.

I am still challenged to stop reading the paper or watching a program while having a meal. I have to make a real conscious effort to pay attention to eating and only eating. Tasks throughout the day seem to be an act of juggling several things at once...this doesn't work at meal time though (and possibly not the other times either! :P). I have noticed that I feel less satisfied and more hungry sooner after eating, when I am not focused on the food I am consuming. Will keep trying to tackle this challenge.

I am enjoying trying and making up new recipes and that is keeping things fun!

    Well done!

    Planning and prep is really important. I usually keep some munchies in my bag - almonds or a fake Atkins bar from Aldi's. Nothing worse than trying to do grocery shopping right after work on an empty stomach!
