Feeling GREAT! Update on myself!

Wednesday, July 03, 2013

I FINALLY feel like I'm back into the swing of things! I fell off track for some time and gained half of what I had lost back BUT the good news is that I stopped it before I gained anymore! That's a victory in itself! Usually I would've gained it all back and then some but not this time!! I'm down 11 pounds from April and I feel SO much better about myself. I'm only about 15 lbs away from where I want to be and I KNOW I'll get there again.

I've started running and low and behold, I LOVE it!! I started it because I knew that I would burn the most calories from it and even though I still want this to become a lifestyle change like last time, I wanted the weight to come off quickly! I've got a body to sport this summer!!! I've read that the #1 way to maintain your weight-loss is to incorporate a regular exercise routine which is what I'm trying to do. Running has become my go-to exercise to release the happy endorphins. There's nothing like the feeling you get after you run! Such a feeling of accomplishment--I LOVE IT!! Soon I'm going to run my first official 5K and I can't WAIT! My boyfriend is impressed each time I go running and that makes me feel GOOD! Heck, I'm even impressing myself!! My last 5k time was 32:15 with an average 10:48 min/mi pace! Who did that?!! THIS GIRL RIGHT HERE! BOOYA!! emoticon

So as you can tell I'm feeling so much better about myself. Woohoo!! And I'm also SUPER psyched to be meeting some Spark friends at the end of this month! We are going to my parent's condo at the Lake of the Ozarks and are so excited to finally meet eachother in person!

Soon I'll be able to post pics from my SP meet-up AND from my 1st 5K! That just ROCKS!

Just wanted to touch base with you all and give you a long-overdue update on myself. Keep on, keepin' on friends!! Together--WE CAN DO ANYTHING WE SET OUR MINDS TO! You just have to DO IT! emoticon emoticon

emoticon Happy to hear that you've started running and have gotten your food/inactivity triggers under control. I LOVED it when I was able to run. Now with my tendinitis, the doctors say I likely will not be able to run again.

But I know how you feel when you run. It makes one feel near invincible, does it not?

This is an inspiring blog for sure that is awesome news and time. Even if I run 3K it is like in 36-38 min. I am in awe that you are running that fast. I am glad that you have found your mojo to begin again. I completely understand that! It is good to hear back from you, I need to stay in touch.

So glad to see the update on how you are doing. Running is AWESOME! A few years ago I decided that was going to start running for some of the same reasons as you...burn calories fast, and it was convenient (my kids sometimes even ride their bikes with me while I run!). Now, I've completed 8 half marathons and I'm signed up for my 9th in November. Keep up the great work!

Reading your post was like looking in a mirror! I've gained and lost and gained and lost. . .and this last time, I gained, but within about 30 lbs of my highest weight ever, I turned the boat around and now I'm traveling in the right direction again. Oh, and I too want it "right now". I'm not very patient! I can't believe you are in the midwest! I live in Kansas City and am familiar with the Lake Ozark area. My husband and me are headed south this weekend to the Roaring River - down near Cassville. Small world, huh? Enjoy your time with other SP folks. And . . . Happy 4th of July! emoticon
