So today I was on Pinterest and came across 101 free or near free activities to do with your kids this summer. As I was browsing the list, I came across something called 'geocashing'. Not knowing what it was, I immediately googled it and learned that it is like a worldwide 'treasure hunt'. There are things hidden EVERYWHERE and encourages learning, activity and clean up. Seriously, you should google it.
I'm trying to learn more about it and trying to figure out how to make google maps work with the gps coordinates but I"m interested in going to see if we can find some. I think it could be a good family activity. I might go seek out a few on my own first before involving the kids. I like the idea. Could this be a window for a new hobby for me, something active and gets me out of the house!? I even know someone who signed up before but just never had anyone to do it with, so her and I might get together for some weekly fun!
Check it out! Friend me (ladyshayla) on geocashing.com and go have some fun, alone, kids and family! I will let you know how my first experience goes!
