Reality is harsh...

Wednesday, July 03, 2013

I had my first wedding dress fitting last week, nothing like waiting til the last minute-I'm getting married in two months! I've gained weight, so it's good that I ordered the next size up on my dress. I hate that I've gained more weight, but it's my own damn fault.

I even bought Spanx for under my dress. I HATE THEM. Seriously. It too forever to get them on, and with my dress on too I felt like I might pass out it was so warm. It doesn't help that the co-owner made an (unintentionally) rude comment when I came out in my dress 'Oh, it's good to see the Spanx are doing their job!"

I'll be damned if I'm going to continue to live my life this way. I have the darn things, but I don't want to be forced to wear them. I was drinking a ton of water and then, for some dumb reason I stopped. Time to start again!

Not much of a progress report, but I needed to get that out. Oh! It's been 100 days since my last soda, that's a bright thing to end on!!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding-I hope it will be the best day of your life-it was for me. I married my best friend and after almost 30 years he is still just that, but so much more. Now, about those spanx-use them as a motivator. Show them (and the wedding shop merchant) who is boss. You have about 8 weeks until the big day, you can make some changes in that time-best to you on your journey and on your wedding day!!

You will fit into the beautiful dress you bought without that spanx emoticon .

Congratulations on your engagement, and best wishes as your wedding day approaches! I can only imagine the craziness that is to come...but have faith knowing it will culminate in a wonderful day! :)

A note on the fitting - when ANY clothes start to fit tight, it is such a downer. But when you start losing that weight again (which you know you CAN!), wearing those clothes comfortably is such a great feeling. Heck, before you know it, you'll have to buy sizes even smaller than before!

Best of luck to you!! :)
