Every year while my husband was alive, we went to the 3rd of July Festival in Poulsbo, WA (about 30 miles from where I live). Since my husband passed 4-and-a-half years ago, I have brought new friends and acquaintances to this neat little Scandinavian town to celebrate the pre-4th with activities and fireworks every year I am able to attend. Tonight will be no different.
Poulsbo is a quaint little town with a flavor all its own and a really welcoming atmosphere. There are many cute shops to peruse, fun activities in which to participate, and really lovely people to meet. The best part of the festival is the free music and the wonderful fireworks over Liberty Bay when the sky darkens. The reflection of those amazing colors and shapes on the water truly makes the event 2-shows-in-1.
The friends with whom I am attending this annual fete knew and appreciated my husband. One of the things we do is toast him with sparkling cider as the fireworks are in full blossom. It is always a good time and bring many loving affirmations.
