Unpleasant Surprise

I hopped on the scale this morning and found that I've gained three pounds in the last two weeks. I am absolutely positive that it's from stress. The sooner this family ordeal is over with, the better,

    It's just a number on the scale - you're aware of it and now you can take care of it. I haven't been following all your blogs so I'm not quite sure if whatever is going on is limiting your time but try to get a long walk in if you can. Any additional exercise to alleviate some of the stress. emoticon

    Right there with ya, Lilli: 3 pounds up for me. But this is not a misery-loves-company themed, comment, it is instead a power in numbers comment. Finding healthy ways to alleviate stress and thus, lose or keep pounds off in the process, is a shared goal among Sparkers. I plan to do some reading today for pleasure as one stress reliever and then, who knows, maybe a long walk with my weirdo dog once the weather cools this evening.

    BUBBLEJ1, that idea is a tempting one! The revised date for my brother's move to the new house is July 10th, which is the day before my mother's birthday...I'm sure she didn't plan it that way or anything.

    So, on July 9th, I am going to start the "Better start packing, the big day is tomorrow! What time do you want us to drive you over there?" routine...and this time, unlike the day before the 1st, I'm not going to listen to excuses as to why he needs to stay a while longer. He is out. He is done. My mother is not allowed to make surprise visits anymore. I am taking my house back.

    Sorry about your disappointing weight-in and family issues. Stress can really upset your momentum and motivation. Try not to get down on yourself, though.

    Most definitely stress. Glad that you're aware of it and so aren't adding more stress to yourself because of it!

    Then again... it's hotter than hades there, which may also have something to do with it. I don't know anyone whose body doesn't hold on to some water when dealing with high temps.

    Basically - perfect storm for adding on a few pounds for a bit. Nice thing about it, though, is that it'll just wander its way off as soon as life and the weather cool down a tidge.
