Last Friday, Day #73, 6/28/13 was good but exhausting. The title of this blog is one of my favorite quotes from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory:
"So much time and so little to do. Wait a minute. Strike that. Reverse it. Thank you." - Willy Wonka when the kids first get into the factory
Here's the exercise that I did Friday (6/28/13):
3.6 miles of walking - Friday's lunch walk was to the National City Christian Church for the noon time pipe organ recital
I really enjoyed Friday's lunch walk. Once again, on Friday I didn't really want to spend a lot of time in the sun, so I did some internet research and found out about the pipe organ recital. I always wanted to see the inside of this church, because it is absolutely enormous from the outside (see pictures below):
I pretty much love all types of music, so I was excited to go to this recital. The organist from the church, Charles Miller, played some JS Bach, Virgil Fox, Louis Vierne and Phillip Moore. It was great. I hadn't heard a live pipe organ since I was in college 10 years ago. Here are some additional pictures:
The reason the day was so crazy was because my wife had a dance production later that evening (she goes to a dance school every week and this was there big summer production). So I had to go to work early, leave early, go home change, pick up one of our friends, get to the auditorium and pass out tickets. Not to mention it was pouring rain during all of this. The production was wonderful though and it was a sold out show (the auditorium seated at least 500 people). After that was over, I was wiped out, but it was a good day.
