This Is Who I Am - Book

Wednesday, July 03, 2013

If you follow the plus-size model Tess Munster on Facebook, you'll have seen her reference to this book 'This Is Who I Am' by Roseanne Olson. It is a photobook of nude women, all shapes & sizes sharing their stories about body love. I haven't read it yet, but I'm going to try and get a hold of a copy.

Tess posted her favourite story from the book and I just thought it was awesome too so I wanted to share with all of you.

May we all collectively raise a new generation of girls that have a deep reverence for their whole being.

It is such a shame that all those so called experts on beauty overlook the much more obvious real quality which is beauty in itself.
I have seen more beauty in this sight than I ever have in any copy of cosmo or vague, maybe because in here there is REAL beauty.

If only I had read this when I was 16. Sigh. Thanks for sharing. Truly wise words! emoticon

I noticed that the more we hear about diversity, the more the magazines make us we feel like our hair, body and style need to be the same.
