Warning: Whining Here! emoticon

Coming back from my 10 day vaca has NOT been fun. emoticon

I don't want to carry around all that dreck in my brain, so I'm dumping it here to make room for more positive stuff. emoticon

My latest challenges:
-Blew a truck tire coming home from the airport. On country road in 110 degree heat. Waited on side of the road for an hour before being rescued. Spent $1700 on new tires. Was trying to put off this expense as long as possible, but ended up paying more both in $ and 'experience'. Good News: DH had helped tow truck driver in the past, so he billed our insurance directly. No cash or credit card out of pocket charges!

-Next morning got a call from my Dad's assisted living that they sent him in ambulance to ER with a stroke. Fortunately, it was a 'small' one. Went thru usual hospital 'drama' and stress. Good News: He now only has a bit of droopy lip and is back to his apt with increased level of care.

-Woke up with a summer cold emoticon . Sore throat, stuffy nose, tired. No wonder I had to take a 2 hr nap yesterday!!! Good News: Drinking Hot tea and Hot skinny mocha's this morning eased my throat and drained my nose emoticon

Seeing this stuff in writing has helped shift my perspective and attitude back to POSITIVE.

Thank you for your shoulders Sparkfriends!!!

I am so glad that your dad is fine, and that he is receiving the care he needs.
Hate it when we get back to the grind, having to hit the ground running. Shocks the system.
Hope you feel better soon!

Sometimes traveling will have you end up with a cold - being on a plane with all that recirculated air. Hope you are feeling better soon. Glad your Dad's stroke was not severe and that he is back home with increased care and sorry about the tires. I hate those not fun expenses! I was just reading about the latest trend in rental tires. People who cannot afford to purchase new tires and they rent them month to month or make weekly payments - very sad state to be in. If they miss a payment they come out to find their car up on cinder blocks with their tires missing! It was in the Sunday Chicago Tribune last weekend. Apparently these agreements are so ironclad that they cannot even get out of them by filing bankruptcy.
Sorry to go off on a tangent! Your blog just triggered my memory. Hope things are looking up for you!
