I made a smoothie this morning, and did not add any blueberries or chocolate to cover the green color.
I had this in mind since I just bought bananas yesterday, and had a couple of apples sitting on the counter for way too long.
- 2 handfuls of baby spinach
- 2 apples, washed, cored and cut up
- 1 banana, peeled
- some almond milk, to make it thin enough to drink
- a handful of walnut pieces
- a couple shakes of cinnamon
OMG - The color was gross! And everything was at room temperature, so it was a tepid smoothie.
But the taste was fabulous. Like I put apple pie in a blender.
So I added a few ice cups and put it in a covered to-go cup.
I hadn't finished it by the time I got to work, so I offered a taste to a couple of coworkers who were, like me, not on vacation. One admitted it was surprisingly good. The other went screaming from the room, saying he'd changed enough diapers.
