Last night made it worthwhile!

Well last night I figured out what makes this journey worthwhile. I saw what all the sweat has accomplished. I got the payoff for my mind winning the argument with itself about skipping or not skipping a workout. Even on a night where I thought I wouldn’t get a workout. I did get in the workout, but that is a side note even though it was an awesome workout.
Kristy had her last tennis camp session of the year. So, due to the wacky weather we have been having they were basically just going to sort of recognize those who came, and then open courts with families and whoever the kids wanted to play. Knowing how many kids there are and only having 5 courts available, I picked the Munchkin up early and we got there before it started. So we did our play before anyone got there.
What I noticed was, I could run. Albeit just a little, maybe jog is the better word, but I got a couple balls there was no way I would have gotten even 2 months ago. And while my ankle is a little sore today, we actually had some fun tennis going on. I know I am not nearly so sore as I would have been. So, we had a great time talking a little smack with each other. For her talking smack consists of sticking her tongue out at me and making weird faces at me Complimenting her on some of her shots. And it felt good to not say, sorry, I want to play, but the legs can’t handle it. In the end I probably would have played but paid for it today by being sore. I am a little sore, but nothing I can’t handle and still going to walk home tonight.
Then after that we went to dinner and then I dropped her back at her mom’s. I went home and went for a walk. I had mapped out a route and leashed up the pup and out we went. I had mapped out a 4.5 mile course and off we went. I had planned to jog some. Got to one point and I added a little distance. So, as the walk/jog progressed and we got done in 63 minutes, I had added what I thought was about .2 miles. So I thought I was doing pretty good. Went home and showered and opened up mapmyride.com and remapped it. Not only had I added almost a mile, who does that without realizing it? I also calculated my speed on a website called caloriesperhour.com and when I tried it using the walking calculator, it told me due to the speed to use the JOGGING! Calculator. So, it must be official! I am a jogger? WOW!! So, I can jog and I can play tennis. Talk about walking on cloud 9 last night.
Then of course I tried on my class ring from college to see if it fit yet and it didn’t. Ah well we can’t have it all. For now, I am just happy and content with what I have accomplished and the feeling of being out there playing with the little one far outweighed the ring not fitting.
