Nana and Her New Grandson

Wednesday, July 03, 2013

Here I am, holding my two week old grandson, at 7 lbs, 4 ounces. He is tiny! Hard to believe this American baby has a huge chance of being over weight at some point. Now, his deal is, eat, eat! You need to grow!"

When it is hard to be consistent on a healthy path I need to remind myself that days like this one make it so worthwhile. I want to be around to see this one grow!

Meanwhile, what a beautiful day it is in my life so far.

What a precious picture of a precious moment.

Where does the "you need to eat" change to "you need to WATCH what you eat"?

Grandchildren are such precious gifts. They can fill one's life with joy.

I wish you many happy days and years ahead with this little one, as you watch him grow and develop.

Congratulations on the new grandchild! Yes, we want our babies to eat and be fat and that is truly healthy. When they start to crawl, then walk, they lose the baby fat as long as they're fed healthfully.

I love holding my grand-babies, too. I'm finding now that they are getting older, they love working out with me. And they are able to understand healthy vs unhealthy eating habits. Not that they don't desire sugar! They are teachable. You will be a great example to him!

Well Grandma, YOU will be the role model for him!!! Way to go!

I agree with Milledge2. With Nana as a role model, the odds of his becoming overweight go down. I'm sure you will keep him active!

Congratulations! Must be a great feeling to hold him.
With such a grandma, he has a good start for a healthy life! :-)
How much time do you spend with him?
Do you have other grandchildren, too?
