I found a koala on my walk today!!!

Wednesday, July 03, 2013

He was asleep high in a tree, but it was SO exciting!

Not easy to get a photo as twilight approached, with a koala some 40-50 ft (or 14-16 meters) above my head!!!!

I went out walking looking for koalas, this seems to be one of the centers of koala country. People living in this park told me there was at least one who was a resident too.

It was THRILLING!!!!

Okay my friend, you are observant. What a tilt of the head that took, but so worth it. Thanks.

You were lucky to see one in the wild. Doesn't
happen very often. He looks quite comfy.
Thanks for sharing the lovely photo. emoticon

So cute snoozing away! I had a small choccie caramel koala bear gifted to me by my Aussie friend whose mother sends him bags of them: have you found them there yet? Yummy!! Plus a cherry ripe (coconut and cherry) and a violet crunchie (it's sponge taffy with chocolate). There are apparently quite a range of Australian sweeties that remain in a kind of time-warp there, kind of 50s candies . . . evolutionarily isolated I suppose!! (My bottom is going to be as wide as that koala's if I keep visiting him!!)
