Well I got through the first week. I am slowly getting into the spark routine. Started tracking food and water, drinking water rather than coffee and squash. I have started to make conscious choices when I eat and to make changes. I am choosing fruit rather than a quick chocolate bar or cake, this is no denial as i love strawberries and cherries, which are in season so not too expensive. i am eating lots of fish, and you know there isnothing more delicious than smoked mackerel. Now I have to start moving more and building up my exercise minutes. Thanks for encouragement and advice about seated exercise, I think I will have to do this for a few weeks before I can do any walks longer than 5 minutes.
The scales are broken so I haven't weighed myself this week, but I might wait a month before I do. That way I should get a lovely surprise, without all the angst of daily and weekly weighing. I can't resist hopping on the scales every morning.
My two daughters are both trying to lose weight. Their names are Siobhan and Aisling. Siobhan takes after me, she looks at a doughnut and puts on a stone! She has lost almost three stone, and i am very proud of her. Aisling has only a few pound to lose and can usually eat anything she likes. Both exercise a lot and Aisling joined a gym today. She already swims and goes trampolining every week.
One of the nice things about spark people is reading about other people and then leaving positive friendly nice comments in reply. How often, I wonder, do we do this in real life. How often do we do it to ourselves? Some of the stories are so inspirational.
So it's been a good week although I look forward to the next with trepidation - can I keep on the bandwagon and if I fall can I clamber back on?
