My little buddy, the light of my life, Keegan, came home yesterday afternoon.YAY!!! WOOT WOOT! Thank you God! Yipeee!!
Can you tell how excited I am? I could hardly contain myself last night, especially since he wanted he and his Mommie to stay here and leave his sister at the sitter's house, which the sitter suggested. Anyway, he was delightful! The sweet loving little guy was back. Yes, he paced, yes he took a shower just as we were getting ready to go out but he didn't linger in the shower and felt so much better afterwards. I guess he wanted the hospital "feel/smell" off but couldn't explain why he felt an urge to shower. No temper tantrums, no screaming, no throwing furniture! He also slept all night which he hadn't been doing while on the ADHD medication.
This morning he woke up when he heard his mother turn off my security system but stayed in bed until a few minutes after 7. Then he quietly got up, thinking that I was still asleep. When I said good morning his cheerful voice came to me as he said, "Well, good morning, Mymom!" What a delight to hear the sweetness back in his voice! What a blessing to have this delightful child back!
Ok, what about the ADHD? Well, we are just going to have to learn to deal with a child who has a hard time sitting down and find ways to get him to focus on school work, etc. We are going to have to find ways to help him burn up energy. When I say "we" I include his teachers not just his mother and me!
Now, why include the exercise? Well, I would have gotten him and taken him to the pool this afternoon but thunder and lightening has prevented that. No water aerobics for me today.
What about other exercises? I was also going to mow my good sized yard but couldn't find the keys to the shed to get the gasline for the lawnmower. So, that is out. But there is the treadmill at the Y. Yes, but by the time I got to that it was a time when all treadmills would be taken and weight resistance machines would be full too. I guess the next thing is to dance around the house and up and dodwn the stairs!
Thank you God for Keegan being home and "feeling better" as he said. Thank you for the hugs I got from him and gave him. Thank you for the daycare as they love Keegan and his sister almost as much as they love their own. They are true blessings and have been so helpful! Thank you for helping Keegan take the meds he is still on and for giving us the knowledge of what to look for if ever there is another "bad reaction" to a medication. Thank you Lord for the blessing of keegan and his sister for they are true blessings.
