Hike to a new(latest on my quest) Hidden Lake on a Hot Day

Tuesday, July 02, 2013

While it was in the 100's in the valley, I went up with a couple friends to hike from Meek's Bay to Hidden Lake (#6 in my hidden/lost lake quest!). It only got to the 80's there! But it turned out to be a great hike for the heat - lots of creeks and lakes along the way (opportunity for getting wet!), and it is a beautiful trail - for wildflowers, views, trail conditions, everything. We ended going on past Hidden Lake to Stony Ridge Lake for lunch and a swim - total about 13 miles.

Wildflowers along the way (unfortunately my camera's not the best!)

Wow, just looking at those gorgeous pictures makes me feel cooler. If I'm going to hike anywhere the temperature is below 90, I have a 2+ hour drive, so it's the gym for me for right now.
