Why I do what I do.

Most of my life was filled with activity as a fat person. It's hard to do the things you enjoy when you are overweight. I hated myself for it. I knew it was my fault, but changing seemed to be too much of a mountain to climb.
I finally decided that enough was enough, I was tired of going through the same old cycle. Lose some weight, gain it back and more. I needed to make a change, it was difficult to climb stairs without getting winded!
So I started with a little walking and then running. I found out that I really enjoyed running, it relieves my stress in ways that I never thought possible. That is not to say that the road hasn't been tough, because it certainly has! There are people who don't understand why I do what I do and think that it's crazy. I used to care about what people thought, but now it's much easier to just ignore it and move on.
Why do I do what I do? Because I have to, for me. I have kept my weight off for a year so far and that is the longest I ever have. I am not totally there yet, but I know that I am going to make it. Praise God, for His strength is made perfect in my weakness.
