the results are in: how i did with a week off track.

Tuesday, July 02, 2013

friday, june 21st: nephew and sister came down.
sunday, june 23: sister left, nephew stayed.
sunday, june 30: brother in law and other nephew came down.
monday, july 1st: brother in law and both nephews left.

it was a week of food, food and more food.
i just attempted to blog about the nephew and food but it got sucked into the black void of cyberspace..

but thats probably for the best. i will think on it some more and write about it later.

friday, june 21st, i was 139.4 pounds.
monday, july 1st, i was 139.2 pounds.

i mostly tracked my food and obviously tried to make good choices.

it was actually quite easy after the first time.
i had been making dessert sunday and i forget what it was but i had a conversation with myself and i wasnt feeling great because i had eaten too much and im just not used to eating that way... anyways, once i had decided that i was going to rock the hell out of this week, it was easy.

any desserts i made, i would make two--one for the nephew, one for the husband. and despite there being leftovers of them--as in, id make the desserts but there would be enough for 2 more, i just said, its off limits.
and it worked.

something else that helped me was that i did workout every day. i walked for at least 90 minutes every single day, mostly more.
and one day i even got in a short weight session.

yesterday, the day they left, was probably my hardest day.
i got up at 5 after going to bed at midnight, made them donuts to take with them. i didnt sample the donuts, either.
i packed up all the cookies i had made: nutella cookies, chocolate chip peanut butter, oatmeal and pumpkin. [from my house, they were driving 6 hours to a theme park for 3 days so i had made them cookies to snack on.] and packed up all the chips.

i kept none and sampled none.

i threw away an ice cream cake that was leftover, brownie parfaits that were leftover.

but what bothered me the most--and is still bothering me--is that i have leftover bowtie pasta in the fridge.
of anything i make, this is my absolute positively most favorite.
i did not make it of my own accord--the nephew asked for it specifically.

i did go through all the ingredients and got an estimation of calories... although it is probably pretty inflated since the measurement of pasta is for dry vs. cooked and i didnt measure it out before.
knowing that number will help me.

also, seriously, we went to a potato chip factory.
i thought itd be neat to see.
they had samples of all of their chips and guess how many i had?
NONE.

bought 50$ worth of chips--none of which i have eaten or will eat, btw. i dont like kettlechips.

so, how do i think i did this week?

to say that i rocked it is an understatement.
i never ever thought i could do this.

i even made the nephew go to subway instead of getting something he wanted for lunch.. i said, not getting pizza! we're going to subway!
and then, another day, we were at the mall and he got pizza, the husband got chinese and i got a salad. and not like a salad thats 1000 calories...
we're talking 20 calorie packet of dressing, lettuce, tomatoes, onion and cucumber.

Holy Dee-Is-Awesome!! I'm proud of you, and well, not so secretly jealous. ;-) Since My Guy's passing, I'm finding I have less resistance to the foods I can't eat on a good day -- chips are in that category, and I *LOVE* kettlechips. Toddylicious visited last week, and he brought over 2 bags of chips -- I had the equivalent of 4 portions of chips, or a whole bag. And I felt like poo the next 2 days. I'm hoping my brain has finally learned that lesson once and for all.

On bowtie pasta - you know what you need to do with this food, right? Either mesure it out and enjoy it, or toss it, or allow the pups to chow down. It's because it's your favourite that it's hard to let go. I'm still afraid of leftovers, and didn't really realize it until I had a fridge-full of leftovers after the funeral, and that fear isn't getting any better. Yet. :-P
