I have been absent for the longest time since starting with Sparkpeople. Work and illness has taken over my life in the last 2 months.
I had 2 issues at work , the first being that the Community Health Department I work for was in the process of going to records on line, so that consisted of training both out of clinic and in the clinic. We will be moving to "central Booking" in the near future so needed to get all my forward bookings in the diary onto the computer diary. So a major change in thinking as we are now typing into the records online! It is brilliant as these records now will be available to the school nurses as the baby gets older and moves into the school system. More continuity of care. Also less duplication.
The 2nd thing at work was going through an assessment for our Competencies.
As we are now registered nationally we have to pass competencies that we don't necessarily do on a day to day basis. So lots of study and reading policies as well as running a VERY busy clinic!
The good news is that I passed the competencies last week. And all the forward bookings are in the computer diary! And am becoming quite comfortable using the new data entry program. Who would have thought that as a nurse I would be sitting at a computer typing as a major part of my job!........Lola
So 2 major stressors in my life are now dealt with !!
The illness was a cold that did not get better for ages and developed into a gastroenteritis 2 weeks later. This took nearly a month to get over and 2 lots of sick leave from work.
I am now starting to feel that I can get back to Sparking, I need to for the sake of my health and wellbeing. I have gained 8kkg since Christmas . Hit 70kg last week. Here was me wanting to be 60kg at 60 years of age! Well I am 60 on the 23rd of August this year so I have a feeling that this may not be possible.
Hard to believe I was down to 60.2 kg last year.
But as the saying in Sparkpeople goes 2 steps forward and 1 step back.
It is the beginning of a new month and I will get back to the 10min Sparkpeople Exercise Videos .
I apologise for not being here supporting you in the last few months but am hoping to get back to Sparking more and being a better Sparkfriend.
