FMD diet day 3 - WORST. DAY. EVER.

I had high hopes for today, but the lingering headache I had yesterday became a full-blown migraine today. I kept to the diet and had very little problem sticking to only protein and veggies, but then the migraine got worse.

I'm pretty sure it was a hormone induced migraine since I started my period today. I always have migraines when I start my period each month, but this one was bad, maybe because I didn't take anything to stop it yesterday. Usually I drink soymilk and take a Tylenol when I first feel the headache and then it goes away and doesn't come back. But since I didn't take anything for the headache yesterday, I think that's why it got so bad today. Finally I broke down and drank soymilk and took Tylenol, which I know you're not supposed to do because the soy messes up your estrogen and the Tylenol stresses your liver, but I was desperate. However, it didn't help--the migraine was probably too far gone for the Tylenol to work.

I went to bed with an ice pack over my face and slept a few hours, but the migraine made my very nauseous (it always does) and so I was in bed feeling wretched for several hours. When it finally died down enough for me to get up, I was able to eat, but I did not eat very much today.

What's even worse is that I can tell I'm terribly bloated--my pants are tight today. After the stress to my body from the headache and after eating both soy and Tylenol, I don't think I'll be losing any weight this week. :( Oh, AND I weighed myself this morning and didn't lose anything from yesterday.

On the plus side, it really wasn't hard to go low carb today, so I guess that's a positive. I have my meals planned for tomorrow, so hopefully tomorrow will be easy, too. I am not nuts about the protein I'm eating, but I absolutely love the veggies and that makes up for it.

Made the beef stew recipe from the book--eh. Not the greatest. Tomorrow I'll try the stuffed mushrooms. I'm pleased that I'm eating so many veggies that I had frozen--I had frozen spinach and frozen arugula, which I can use in the recipes.

The book mentions eating potassium rich veggies the day after an alcoholic binge to soothe the liver. Since I know the Tylenol probably stressed my liver, I'll try to eat more of those veggies tomorrow.

22, I was thinking that, too. I usually have at least a little bloating during my period.

  Glad you're feeling better. TOM may be causing bloating. I'm doing the Spark solution challenge. It went very well the first week.

    Thanks guys! I feel a lot better today, although I still have a low-grade headache lingering. I'm hoping it'll go away soon.

And I'm absolutely astounded because I weighed myself this morning and I lost 2.4 pounds! While I was bloated yesterday, I wasn't bloated the day before when I weighed 150.6, but today I weighed in at 148.2! So despite my bad day yesterday, I lost weight!!!!!

    So sorry to hear of your pain. I dont/didnt have migraines, so I can't begin to understand. I did have a headache from h3LL for a few days, but then I felt better than ever.

I also was in bed by 8pm the first few days, just drained. But then the clouds lifted and the sun came out emoticon

I hope today is a better day for you. emoticon
