First Day of July

Tuesday, July 02, 2013

My third day of vacation and I must say I got a lot done this weekend. I did the Kansas City Glow Run on Saturday-foolish of me. Reason being is that the prior night I worked, got off about 1:00 am and really did not rest for the evening 5k, in fact I stayed up pretty much all day and by the time it was to start, I was beat down tired. My saving grace was the weather was good for a night stroll and I did stroll and my sweetie held my hand and pulled me most of the way. They handed out nice finisher medals for all participants and I can say I got this one under my belt.

On Sunday, Pastor Ryan talked prayer and bringing it to life. It was thought provoking to take a good look at my prayer language, my thoughts and attitudes toward God and generally getting back on track.. I want to really focus on my relationship with God and having this time off helps me sit back, exhale and get into the meat and potatoes of the Lord's goodness and mercy. When I tell people that God truly answered my prayers and healed my Mom of cancer, I get that quizzical look on how is that a true answer. In my heart of hearts, it is, I believe and stand firm on that fact.

I spent my first weekday preparing for my journey to Wentzville tomorrow to get my things out of storage. Long time coming-four years to be exact and by the grace of God tomorrow night, I will be resting, truck unloaded, mission accomplished.

Jesus is life, the rest is just details

You are right that sleep and rest is most important.

I agree with Sunset. I have heard so many sermons lately about "fire strengthening the steal." I do know that with God all things are possible, and that people don't give him enough credit. My daughter has been very critically ill, and I actually had many doctors tell us that prayer has done miraculous things. It did in our case and I am sure that it did in yours. Keep on sharing your story of the wondrous things that our Savior can do! emoticon

What an inspirational blog as God will put us through trials and circumstances to strengthen us, to draw us closer to Him! You have passed on all accounts and in spite of not having enough rest, you did it anyway and did not use it as an excuse, on vacation! We are on a lifelong journey towards eternal life! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
