Claiming A Do Over

Monday, July 01, 2013

I drove a neighbor to Nashville for an eye appointment. After her appointment, we had lunch and a bit of shopping. I got no exercise other than the little walking at her appointment and the shopping. That’s not enough. I need to make exercise a priority. So while I thought I would have tomorrow free, I suddenly have a budget meeting for my gated community at 10 am. I have to make a grocery run and pick up vegetables from the Farmer’s Market late in the afternoon. I will need to prepare for the meeting in the morning and I find it hard to exercise early. So I will plan to get in a walk in the afternoon or if we have rain, I will get on the treadmill.

One thing I did discover today is that if you normally buy in the Petite department, you wear one size smaller in the regular department. And, the crop pants in the regular department make full-length pants for a short person. I found a pair of jeans in the petite department that I wanted, but they only came in a crop and I didn’t want a crop. The saleslady clued me into the idea above. Hey, I was happy buying the pants I wanted in the length I wanted and it happen to be labeled a size smaller.

I am going to make tomorrow, the 2nd, my 1st day of the month. I’m claiming a “do over”.

That is great info to know about the clothes. I'm only 5'3" or so thus I straddle the line on petite. Except for my rotundity. LOL.

Thanks WhyNotj1, I hopped on my treadmill for 15 minutes with a bottle of water at 7 a.m. this morning and will get in a few short walks throughout the day. As you say, a few minutes several times a day will add up. Thanks.

You can give yourself a do-over any time. Isn't that awesome? Sometimes I just need to re-think how I can fit exercise into my day. Can you park at the far end of the grocery store parking lot or squeeze in a walk on your way to or from your budget meeting? Even a few minutes is better than nothing! emoticon
