So, today is day three for me as a new SparkPerson. I will fully admit that moments after signing up I started to have a panic attack. This is more personal information than I have ever put out into the world wide internets about me, my weight, my previous sorry attempts at losing it, and so on and so on...I had to close the computer and come back to it a few (dozen) times over the weekend to really put it all together. But then, an interesting thing started to happen...it started being almost fun.
In three days here's what I've learned:
1. I eat way more calories than I thought I did.
2. I eat out way too much. (duh...I live in New Orleans)
3. It's actually pretty easy to drink 8 glasses of water today.
4. I am hellaciously competitive! I want every single SparkPoint every single day.
Which brings me back to my topic. Today, I went for a run...it started as a walk, the pace got faster, and then in the home stretch, hubby & I ran the last quarter mile home. It felt great, and didn't even hurt (much)! The crazy part about all of this is that just over a year ago, I ran my first 5k - without stopping once! I was 30-40 lbs lighter and working out 5 days a week. Then my world fell apart for a little while, and now I'm struggling just to take the very first steps back in the right direction.
But today was a big step and I was running when I took it.
