It is a mystery to me why our foster kitty, Pepper, has fallen in love with my daughter Cecily. I don't know how the cat knew which person in our family really doesn't like cats, but he definitely found the one. I had heard that cats seem to know people who don't like them, and always seem to like them better than other people.
So today I had put food in his dish and was trying to persuade him to go to the pantry and eat it before the dog found out. He ignored me. Which was dumb of him because (1) I am the only person who ever feeds him, and (2) he always thinks he is starving to death, thus, if he had a grain of sense, he would come when I called him. But no, not something he will even consider.
Then I had an inspiration and told Cecily to go into the pantry because the cat would follow her in. I don't think she believed me! And the look she gave me would have surely sent me into rigor mortis if looks could kill. But sure enough, the cat went right into the pantry behind her like Mary's little lamb. Then Cecily gave me an even worse glare, just because I was right.
I sure wish it would work for me.
