Today I went out in the rain to pull weeds from the pool Patio

Monday, July 01, 2013

It just made sense. I had waned to spray it with vinegar, it works ell but no sun. Time is getting short so I went out and pulled or dug the weeds that have grown this Spring. Thanks to those old darned ANTS. They move the sand to make their hills and they have lowered the paving stones by 2 inches all around the pool. I used to lift those stones and refill with sand but not with these hands these days.

I was out there for over three hours , DH came out and swept up the mess. In the meantime the pool was over the skimmer so we had to let out more water. Tomorrow more rain and even the fourth has rain in the forecast.

I have to admit I would rather have the rain than the heat so many of you are experiencing. Please take as many precautions as you can to stay hydrated and shaded.
It is time for bed to rest my back for a while. Thanks Pat in Maine.

Sounds like a work filled day. Yep, it has been hot here, around 100 but 110
in the Cali desert where my son is stationed. He has one of those awful summer colds to boot.

I have been away recently and I am back to catch up on your blogs.

I hope you're resting well. I'm glad you're getting rain. It's even been overly hot here, but starting to cool down. I think the heat melted some of my brain and my internet connection, who knows what else. I hope your friends in hotter places are hydrating well too.

Not sure I'd want the rain, but you have this humidity back! The dry heat isn't that bad, it's the humidity that gets to me.

I've been drinking lots of water, and doing my best to stay in the shade. Need to start carrying sunscreen in my purse again. I usually do that especially in the summers here.

Sounds like you have completed a lot of yard work and that means lots of exercise. Good for you. Not it's time to get some rest.

A few more emails to clear out, then go out and pick up the mail and get my shower and get things ready for work tomorrow. Then it's bed for me as well.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

We go back and forth from rain to heat but this is certainly weird weather. Hubby and I are working all the time to get my son ready to move.

We have been getting lots of rain too. The weeds grow much faster than the plants. We are going away for 3 or 4 days so you might not see me here on Spark People. I'm not sure.

Wish you could send some rain our way, Pat. And I have weeds to pull but a severe lack of motivation in this heat.

I'm with you Pat having the rain over th 100+ temps. The rain also makes the weeds easier to pull but it also helps them to multiply!

Hope you had a good night's rest.

Hugs....Mary Anne

You work so hard Pat. I'm glad that DH was able to give a helping hand. You do deserve some rest and I hope you slept well last night. One thing about weeding in the rain-the weeds come up easier.

We've got the rain AND the heat here in SW Florida! I'm not liking all the rain though (the heat doesn't bother me). Can't wait for the sunshine to appear! Come on sun!!!

Those ants sure make a mess. You must be
tired after all the hard work. You got a good
workout. Now get a good night's sleep. emoticon

We had all that rain over the past week but today ,Monday, for our Canada Day emoticon the sun came rain...nice and warm (Almost 80F ) with a breeze to keep away the humidity.
Alex & I were jumping for joy to get out and walk around town to see all the festivities!

A lot of hard work (for your back). I think pulling weeds would be easier; the ground being wet, than if the ground was dry. (Maybe)?

Have a good restful sleep tonight. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
