Day 8 of the Spark Solution

Slept 9 hours. Breakfast was an English muffin with ricotta and all-fruit. Yummy. Mowed for 90 minutes and weeded for 15 more. Lunch was the Trim Taco Salad. Not bad. I think I got too much lime in it, because my lime was pretty large. I obviously did something wrong with my corn tortilla, as it was tough as shoe leather rather than crispy. Iíd still try it again. My sonís sports practice was cancelled this week due to the holiday, so we walked a 5k together this afternoon. Dinner was an extremely bland Alfredo Pasta with Broccoli. I even doubled the amount of garlic the recipe called for, but couldnít taste it at all. It wasnít bad, it just had no flavor. After dinner, hubby and I did our mile walk around the neighborhood.

Iím being very particular about sticking strictly to the food plan, which I have been criticized for. But if I change it up, how will I know if results, or the lack of, are because of the Spark Solution, or because of the changes I made? So for the full 14 days, Iím sticking to the book. Then I will start varying things up a bit according to what I like and what I can work into our budget. Iíll definitely make sure that I donít end up with all these bits and pieces of left-over ingredients. That really adds up to a lot of money going in the trash because it goes bad before it gets used. I do not have the luxury of a large freezer, so freezing things is not an option.

My weight this morning was exactly 4 lbs lower than last Monday when I started. I am not too overly excited about this. I have always been good about tracking, the good, the bad, and the ugly. My sodium count was super high the 2 weeks prior to starting the Spark Solution, so I think most of what I lost was water weight. Next week will tell me if I have actually lost any fat or not. I know my body, and 4 lbs is what I always gain or lose when I have been retaining water.

I am happy that my family is eating healthier, and not complaining about it, other than they miss going out to eat. We do that way too often for entertainment purposes. My son actually asked if he could have an apple with his turkey sandwich for lunch, which he made on a low fat tortilla, his choice. That made my day.

Fantastic! I just started week 5. I have made a few adjustment to make it more livable for me personally. I am pleased to report that I am down 14.6 in four weeks with the first 2 being the Spark Solution. So I think it is a nice start to good plan. I hope you feel the same way. Sounds like you are off to a great start!

I'm impressed with your dedication. And hooray for your son. My husband used to howl at having whole wheat bread. Now when he howls when he has to eat plain old white bread. It takes a while but we can change our eating habits.

Congratulations on the 4 lbs even if you do think it was water, and for being so consistent!

Good for you to stick strictly to the plan. I always believe if one picks a certain eating plan and then starts making changes, that plan is already not working for her. 14 days is a good length of time to see if you like the solution. I am interested to see how it works. I have been looking to buy another "diet concept" book based on carb levels. My free for all dieting is not working for me anymore because I'm lacking the discipline of a plan. But awhile ago, I told myself that I know how to lose weight and I didn't need to spend more money on weight loss programs. It's all a matter of just doing it. But it is hard to teach my family to like healthier food. Although I make most of my meals from scratch and not boxes and cans, there is still plenty of fats and sugars and salts involved to give flavors.

You are doing Great. You have the Right to be Very proud of Yourself too. Keep It Up. You Can Do It. You could pick up a Freezer for under $200.00 Dollors at Walmart, Home Depot, KMart or any number of Stores. It would save You Money in the long run and pay for it self. Think About It. This is only a suggestion that You Might consider. God Blessings to You and Everyone. Have a Super Great Day. Take Care. Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
