This past weekend we spent two nights at a B&B in a charming historic town about 2 hours away from home.
It was great.
We got a deal we couldn't refuse from "Groupon get-a-ways"--so it was a relaxing and fun weekend away that didn't break the bank.
For me, getting away is so very important. Stepping away from the every day of day-to-day life is when I replenish my spirit.
In terms of weekends away, my husband and I aim to get away for a weekend or longer at least every other month--but if the demands of life just won't allow it, I need to find more creative ways to "get away."
Getting away--physically and mentally--is so important to me.
Here are some of my favorites ways to get away: whether it be for 2+ nights or just 2 minutes:
--a weekend or longer away at a B&B, or Air B&B ;
--a weekend away visiting family or friends;
--a day trip to visit a nearby town of interest, tour an historic home/garden, visit a new and different museum; or take a class ( Iespecially like art classes)
--if I only have a few hours, I get away by meeting up with friends, touring a local museum exhibit, strolling through a nearby public garden, going to a local lecture or talk, listening to a podcast, or take the pooch on an extra long walk.
--if I only have an hour I will escape with one of my favorite books or magazines;
--if I only have a few minutes I will meditate or journal.
Is getting away important to you? If so, how do you getaway?
