Monday, Monday, Monday....

Monday, July 01, 2013

I feel bad for Monday...it always gets such a bad reputation...it's not its poor fault that it came after Sunday and just so happens to be the start of the week....

So Monday, thank you for turning my icky weekend around...lets make this a great week!

This was a bad weekend....it was my moms birthday, so I made cupcakes, but my sister didn't listen to me and bought a cake too...now I know it isn't my moms birthday's fault...but cake is a trigger food...we can't have cake or cupcakes in the house because I will eat them all! (Well, the ones without frosting at least)

Anyways, I cooked the cupcakes, and only saved myself out a few without frosting....so I was using my pilsbury white frosting, and holy goodness gracious, there are 1.5 grams of trans fat per two tablespoons!?!? Seriously? I made sure to use all of it that I could, and only ate about two spoonfuls for myself, which is great because I usually eat the whole can...but I know I won't be buying that anymore, that is too much trans fat...

And I only are two little pieces of cake, which is a really big deal cause I will eat the cake...
I did good!

Anyways, Saturday we went to Olive Garden for my mom....I love their spaghetti but am supposed to be going gluten free...well, I read the reviews on their gluten free pasta and they are completely mixed but definitely on the negative side...so I got the normal pasta...my stomach has been killing me since Sunday morning....I'm not sure but I'm assuming it's the pasta....

Has anyone had the gluten free pasta from Olive Garden? I need reviews!

On a good note, with a few tummy breaks, I completed zumba and body pump tonight....
Lets hope the rest of the week is just as great!

I've never had Olive Garden's GF pasta but my feeling about GF foods in general is, Don't expect them to taste the same. They will ALWAYS disappoint if you think they will be the same! They are different, made with different ingredients, LESS GOOD ingredients (or else the originals would be made with them too!)! Be realistic. And you just gotta try things to see which ones are your favorites.

My favorite GF pasta to buy in the store is Wegmans brand. It's really good and a good price too. Before Wegmans came out with theirs, I liked Tinkyada brand.

Sounds like you did well on the cake and great job on the exercise front too.

Oh sounds like you did pretty well on the cake front - good job! And zumba AND body pump? You are a rock star! I watched the end of the Zumba class and it looked like so much fun I may try it. AND I did the body pump! The teacher was great and it went really fast, so I think I can do it. I started with super-light weights but I think next time I can do more. Woo hoo! We rock!
