Short mileage...

Monday, July 01, 2013

Cooper did not want to walk again today. So we walked 1.6 miles this morning, and a mere .6 of a mile this afternoon. Now I am trying to convince him he wants to go out for another short walk, but he is looking at me like "yeah, right." I did go out for a run this morning. I managed to run 3.2 miles in 34 minutes, though I didn't run all of it. I will one of these days. I did run longer before taking a walking break. I figure that if I go a minute or two longer each time, then soon I will be running the whole thing. It is a good theory anyways. It was a nice run today with a light rain to keep things cool. I enjoy running in the rain during the summer.

We are watching the weather and stream levels for a possible kayaking trip on Wednesday. It has been over a week since I have been out in my kayak and I am missing it. We might launch twice on Wednesday if the conditions are favorable.

Cooper got his stitches out today and I signed the statement/complaint with the DCO against the dog who attacked him. It looks like they won't be getting a ticket for an unleashed dog, but the dog has been designated a "dangerous dog", and as such will have to be muzzled. I just hope the owners are responsible enough not to let him out off his leash again. The DCO pointed out that there have been two reported complaints against this dog, which means there were probably more incidents that weren't reported.

I'm happy to hear Cooper is doing better. I hope he starts enjoying his walks again soon.

Looking forward to hearing about more kayaking adventures.

You are doing the right thing, increasing your time slowly both in your own running and in Cooper's recuperation!

I bet Cooper was glad to get his stitches out. They do tend to itch after a while.

Hopefully the owners of the dog who attacked him will keep their dog on a leash and be responsible.

Sounds like a nice run in the rain.

Poor Cooper! May we all have relief from irresponsible dog owners.

Sounds like Cooper is making progress. Hopefully tomorrow will be a little more. It just takes time. Hope you get your kayaking in soon. I'm sure you are missing it.

Cooper might be a little sore from having the stitches out? Maybe?

Good for you on the run. Your persistence will pay off.
