Day One of the 30 Day Shred!

Today was my first day doing the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred workout! I got up this morning and after a pre-workout snack, I got right to it. I knew that I needed to do it first thing in the morning. If I'd put it off until later, I knew I'd probably end up putting it off all day! So after my snack, I went into the living room, turned on the ceiling fan, made sure my water bottle and dumbbells were close by...and I worked out!



It was definitely a challenge. I had to modify the high impact moves, such as jumping jacks. Jillian Michaels doesn't give modifications for jumping jacks; she thinks everyone should do them. But I HAD to modify and make it low impact. Otherwise, my knees and hips would be hurting so bad, I wouldn't even be able to get out of bed tomorrow! But even with the modifications, I worked hard. There were a couple of times when I thought "I can't do this" but I just pushed those thoughts aside and forced myself to keep going. I always tell myself "slow down if you must, but do NOT stop!"



At the end of the workout, I felt so proud of myself. I did it! I was exhausted, shaky, out of breath and covered in sweat...and I felt fantastic! The workout wasn't easy (after all, they don't call it a WORKout for nothing) but I did it! And I'm going to do it again tomorrow. I know if I stick with it, I'll get better, and then I will be able to move up to level 2. (There are 3 levels.) I'm excited to see how much progress I make this month!

    Great job doing the entire video without stopping! 30 Day Shred is a HARD workout. I've started it several times but never finished all 30 days. But I know you can do it! Just remember your motivation and feeling of accomplishment on day 1 once you get to day 10, 15, 25 and 30!

    Well done. 30 days shred is one of my first JM dvd workouts. Now i have purchased few more including Body Revolution. Her workouts are not easy but she will make you stronger! You will be very proud of yourself after completing whole 30 days!

    Love the 30 Day shred. I have done it many times. I have some knee issues and have to modify there or I get tears in the meniscus. Again.

But I find the workouts to be quite challenging and I am sweating by the end for sure.

I will jump in with you and do a harder workout for 30 extra minutes, today.( I modify my jumping jacks, too. )

Don't have Jillian, but will find a good thing on Demand.

JUMPING JULY and making it the healthiest month yet.
