Review of June and a Look Ahead
Monday, July 01, 2013
I'm still kind of in shock that June is over. I've spent some time reviewing my workouts and such. My goal was to lose 10 pounds, and I lost 9.2..kind of bummed, but considering I had so many issues about how many calories to eat after I upped my workouts, I'm excited that I lost that much. I'm so glad that I started training for a 5K which was a definite bonus to this month that I hadn't even planned on. I did 100% of my strength training workouts daily which is totally awesome. I sprinkled yoga in a couple days, too.
I'm excited to start July's new workouts. After my run on Saturday I got a knot in my calf muscle which caused my gait to be off. That led to my knee/ankle/shin to be very sore so i iced it a lot this weekend and it is feeling better but not 100%. I'm hoping I'm able to run tomorrow morning but I'm not going to push it and injure myself worse. My hubs and I are going to get fitted for running shoes on Friday and I'm SUPER excited about that!
It has been so hot outside and they have next to no ozone here, so I have been taking my son to the playground in the mornings around 7:30. This picture was from this morning-
Mondays and Fridays are my scheduled easy days so all I have to do today is my strength training circuit and yoga tonight!
I'm planning some road trips for us to take before we leave Cali. First we are heading up to see the Golden Gate Bridge from Marin Headlands and then driving over to Napa for a bit (why does wine have to have calories???) :) and I think we are going to do this in the next 2 weeks. Then we are going to go to San Francisco for a few days to see the Wharf, Union Square, ride the super cute trolleys, etc. I'm thinking those hills are going to kick my butt! We will probably go there at the beginning of August. Then I'm hoping for one more trip to the beach at Half Moon Bay or maybe Santa Cruz before we head out. It will be a super busy couple months and I'm excited for all of the traveling. I think I'm going to pack my meals as much as possible to cut back on eating out and the excessive sodium.
I have a calendar reminder in my phone to take some progress pics tonight. I keep forgetting to do them so I think I'm going to set up a reminder every few months so that I'm keeping a consistent record.
Here's to a good July- and hopefully 10 more pounds gone!
