It is July 1, and time to reckon with my weightloss goal I set back in May. My goal was to be at 289. My reality is 289.5. Close enough. I'm not going to stress about it. As a matter of fact, I weighed 289 back on June 25, but I have sat on my butt and eaten cheesecake since then, so I'm perfectly content with 289,5 I am now recalculating for my next goal, which is to be 283 by September 1. I realize that this is arbitrary, yada yada yada, but it helps to have some kind of concrete goal to shoot for.
I suppose you are wondering why I chose 283. That's a loss of 6.5 pounds in two months. Why not five? Why not ten? Simple. The number 283 is significant. I haven't weighed 283 since my husband came home from the hospital three years ago. The last time I stepped on the scale and it was in the low 280s, I had traveled back to visit my crazy relatives in 2009. I weighed 284 then, and I'd like to see 283 just to know I really have made progress. So saying, 283 is what I'm shooting for.
I do know one thing: strength training makes a big difference. In May, I did regular strength training, and I dropped five pounds fairly quickly. In June, I did maybe three sessions total, and weightloss slowed to a crawl. That, and I didn't exercise as much in general, and my eating habits were not that great, either. I guess you know what I am forced to conclude from all this. Back to Ballet Beautiful and hand weights for me. Argh.
