Time to exhale and do summer.

Thanks be to the grace of God, the dangerous month of June has safely passed, and life resumes once again. Time to exhale and let out the deep, deep breath that took me through June. Since my daughter passed 17 years ago on June 3oth, the month of June is like walking on eggs. It's her birthday, then 2 days later, my birthday, then 13 days later, the anniversary of her passing. This year I really buckled down and worked my program to the fullest. I even ordered out two dresses in the next smaller size when they went on sale at unbeatable prices. In order to wear them, I had to go forward on target, tracking all the way. I did that, and went to bed emotionally hungry for a late night snack more than a few times. Last night I was too empty to sleep and the usual late night TV shows just weren't doing it for me, so I finally gave in after 1 AM, and went out to the kitchen for a lemon Greek yogurt. I also took the time to write down the WW points on today's tracking page. As I look out on the day it's very grey, dreary, and humid, but it doesn't matter. I'm going out later, into the day, having come through the most difficult of times, and going forward. It's what we need to do to fully engage in life as we find it. As the Bible wisely instructs us to do: "...leave those things behind and go forth to what lies ahead, to press on toward the prize..."Phil. 3:13-14
