Happy Day 1 of the SUMMER 30 Day Challenge

Today marks the first day of the summer 30 Day Challenge and if you are reading this first thing in the morning, it is not too late to join in, just do your weight and measure and let me know you are in.
WE have ALMOST 10 participants!

I would love to make it 10!

This morning I weighed and measured....and I am ready to go!

My nutritional commitment is NO WHEAT or other grains other than Brown Rice and Quinoa for now.
Only one cup of coffee a day
For the most part I am sticking to "The Plan" and getting 5 X 15 minutes exercise ( minimum) in a week.

Yesterday I went for a walk, the day before a bike ride with the kids.

I am so excited to lead this challenge and hope that you will send me a landmark photo as soon as you can so that the rest of the participants can see something special where you live. ( Last time we did this it was winter!...or summer in the case of those in the southern hemisphere)

    Doing great so far today. Did a 20 minute walk only
as we have lots of rain but did loads of washing and
had fun hanging them out on the line and bringing them
in everytime the showers came. I did manage to get my
flannelette sheets dry, so that is a plus. No carbs today
but just realised I had 2 tablespoons of baked beans I'm
sure and they had some sugar. Have to factor that in.
Does that mean I owe you a coffee? Let me know. emoticon

    OK - I've promised myself - and now you too - absolutely no grains - not even to see if they still give me grief! and, I am abandonning hard yellow cheese again. You know I can eat it by the pound, and sometimes I do just that, and it's undone all the good that the first three months (or was it 4) had done for me

Meanwhile, I am winning at gym - we are having a contest per month to see who attends most classes. I won for June but don't know if they are going to roll it over or hand out prizes as originally promised. I also don't know if it's going to be a lucky draw - i.e. 20 attendances, 20 chances and let's see if your name comes up.

    Kristin in Michigan is happy to report she is sugar free and despite reading a spark friend mentioning fudge brownies, I did not cave:) Went on an hour hike at the state park by work. Mosquitos and mud were awful, but it was fun. Nothing like nature:) Wish I had my camera. I saw oodles of critters. My friend was bummed because she kept missing 'em. Rugged Maniac workout happening in a few.

    Did good with no white carbs - but sucked on the sugar - had an emotional meltdown.

    Had a great day nutritionally and my exercise was re-landscaping my front garden now that the ducklings have left the nest and are on the lake.

And we went for a canoe.
