Well, the legs are feeling the weekend. I might have pushed being on them too much. Itís not bad, but I am glad tonight will be spent on the bike. But, I did a total of about 5 miles in 68 minutes yesterday. I think it comes out to a 4.5 mph pace. So, I am slowly creeping up on the pace that I would consider a jogging pace. I walked to the gym and jogged on the treadmill for 5 minute intervals. I would walk 4 minutes then jog 5. Repeated that for 30 minutes, then walked home. Added in there was some light strength training and core work.
But weather washed out the diving yesterday. Turned out we could have gone most likely, but the threat of storms kept us home. Ah well, there is plenty of summer left to dive so it isnít too bad. I hope that we get out of this cycle soon. It just dries out then it rains again. This is getting aggravating! Lol
Food wise it was a bad weekend. Not sure if hitting the milestone got me a little complacent, but went to a family graduation party on Saturday and did well for awhile once the food came out. I had one plate, kept it pretty healthy, then it started drizzling and we got pushed under the shelter and it went downhill in a hurry. I kind of gorged and ended up eating and drinking too much. In the end it was a good time and while I wished I had kept to healthy choices, I am not going to beat myself up over it. The damage was limited and I will get refocused. I feel confident about that.
Other than that, kind of a quiet weekend. I am starting to feel more like a jogger. The 5 minute intervals spent jogging probably could have been longer, but I am trying to do this right. While I am sore today from the pounding, it isnít too bad, just some twinges. But I am trying to stick to my plan of tiny increases and not push it too much. I have been at this since mid May and am surprised and pleased with where I am right now. I do notice a little drop in what I can do on the recumbent though. My breathing and heart rate are fine on the bike but I have noticed a decrease in the leg power or something. The lungs now seem willing to go harder but the burn starts earlier in the legs. Ah well, there is always a trade-off I assume.
Have to leave early today, the boy has an appointment with the oral surgeon to talk about his wisdom teeth. Poor kid has had braces for 3 years now and they canít finish that until the wisdom teeth come out. So, he will miss about a week of conditioning and most likely will miss Cross Country Camp due to the wisdom teeth. I feel so bad for him. It is leading into his senior season and he will miss a nice little chunk of it. I know he is disappointed. So I guess I find out the damages on how much this will set me back. I swear, just when you get a little breathing room something always comes up.
