Well, June is over and we are on to July already. It has been a challenging month to keep SP goals with moving and travel and all that comes with it. Here is a recap of my June:
1) Weight - I started July at 188, up 4 lbs since 1 June and up 7 lbs since 1 Jan. I really don't want to get back up into the 190's so will have to do a bit better through this transition. My range in May was 181-186, my range in June was 184-188. Slowly creeping the wrong direction.
2) Fitness - My Achilles is recuperating and I am trying to take it easy. I have been keeping my runs in the 3-4 mile range and not pushing that hard. I ran 38 miles in June, bringing me to 518 miles for the year. If I can work my mileage back up, I can make my goal of 1,000 miles, but recovery still takes priority. I need to figure out when I can get access to the pool and work that into the schedule again.
3) Food - We have been out of our house for 2 weeks now and it will be another two weeks before we get settled. That means a lot more eating out than we are used to. If I focus on better choices for the next two weeks I can probably stem the weight creep. Then when we get settled in our new house, I can work on getting back to the low 180's.
4) Races - We are signed up for the Bay Days 4th of July race. I will be doing the 5 miler, and the two big kids will do the 1 miler. I have done the race before and was able to come in under 40 minutes. Given that I have not been training much over the past 6 weeks, I think I will come in around 42-43 min.
Half way through 2013 now, here is to the second half, make it great!
