Another pound off today

which makes a total of 17 pounds (approximate) since beginning on 29th May. I say approximate because I didn't get a pair of scales until friday 22nd June and since 22nd I've lost nine pounds, so I have guestimated that I lost 8 pounds in the 3 previous weeks. It was probably a lot more, but there's no way to ever tell, so I'll stick with that. No point in doing otherwise.

I'm not disappointed with "only" a pound lost for several reasons:

1. I had a drinking binge on friday night - which although wasn't disastrous carb wise, probably slowed my rate of loss--which is what the research says it might do

2. one pound is a very decent loss for three days anyway!

this morning I had breakfast hash (mushrooms eggs and bacon in butter and a cuppa tea 7 carbs) as usual. Lunch, I'm planning to have some fried chicken with some brocolli and tonight, some tesco grillsteaks with greens.

I really love the grillsteaks. I know that if I substituted STEAK for the reformed grillsteaks it would be zero carbs rather than 2 carbs per grillsteak, but they are very very tasty and - let's be honest - a lot lot cheaper. Much as I'd like to live on steak, I can't afford it and you can get 24 grillsteaks for a tenner, whereas i'd only get about four steaks for that. If I'm lucky.

I'll weigh myself again on wednesday.

What I've noticed is that my taste buds have changed. I've never been a fan of too much sugar and now I really can pick out the sugar on my tongue when I encounter it. also I am short on salt and I would normally add salt to stuff, but everything that has a little salt tastes REALLY salty to me so I've not been adding it.

I've found that vitamin C effervescent tablets have a good dose of sodium in them, though - and as I suffer very much from vitamin C cravings (and have to rush to the freezer for a small handful of berries from time to time) this could kill two birds with one stone. Lidls do them quite reasonably I think.
