1 Corinthians 1, Signs, wisdom, foolishness.

Monday, July 01, 2013

Read 1 Corinthians 1.

The skeptic looks for signs, the wise man looks for evidence but the fool just accepts things.
At least that is what our world thinks. The so called wise or intelligent spend time in study, believing only those things for which there is evidence. The skeptic believes only the things that he or she can see. But the so called fool simply believes. I do not mind being called a fool by the world around me. Anyone can look at man-made tools and acknowledge there was a maker yet look at the human body and not make that same connection, I would call that person a fool. It takes more faith to believe that a strange stream of events can bring pond scum to evolve into humanity than to accept that there is a creator who made us with a purpose. I know several highly educated people who I consider fools, they stand by the belief that there is no creator. But the reason is deeper, acknowledging that there is a God also means that there are standards to live by and that is the larger stumbling block

I agree with what you said here. I think it is easier for people to believe this world is all there is, so they don't have to answer to anyone (God) for that they do or don't do.
