Friday was the six month mark since my friend Ali passed away, and I was already in an emotional state. So Saturday sucked SO MUCH MORE when my cat got sick. :( We ended up going to the emergency vet at around 8PM. He will be OK, so that's really the only part that matters. But his urethra was totally blocked and they said if I hadn't brought him in he probably would have died in a couple of days. I HATE that I had to leave him there, but I got to go visit him today and he's doing better. He's high as a kite, so it was kind of funny to see him all glazed over, but he was happy to see me and was very affectionate. Now I'm stressed that it'll happen again (they said there's about a 25% chance it'll happen again) and I'm stressed that this is going to cost me about $1500. So much for saving money. :( But my baby's worth it so I'll just have to suck it up. If all goes well I should be able to bring him home tomorrow and then I need to monitore him as there's an even higher chance of reoccurrence in the first few days. That also means I may end up canceling my trip to Chicago for the 4th of July, but they understand why. Thoughts for my puddy tat if you could, please. I can't go through this again so he needs to be well forever.
I've been doing VERY well on the not stuffing my face with comfort food thing. I did get some chocolate covered almonds that I've been munching on but I can only have a few or I'll get a headache so that keeps me from binging. I also went for a ridiculously slow run on Saturday and to a HIIT class today.
Food has been a lot of my usuals - fruit, roasted tofu, avocados, and hummus. And some chocolate covered almonds now. :)
Friday breakfast: Hemp toast with almond butter and canned peaches. This was before I got to the grocery store. :)
Friday lunch: Two avocado rolls with soup and salad at my favorite sushi place.
Friday snack: Chocolate covered almonds.
Friday dinner: Boca burger and fries at Red Robin, along with two onion rings from the tower my friend ordered.
Saturday breakfast: Watermelon, cantaloupe, grapes
Saturday AM snack: Soy yogurt
Saturday lunch: My first attempt at vegan quiche. It's OK, but not great. I was more excited I had extra kale to make kale chips. :)
Saturday snack: More chocolate covered almonds:
Saturday dinner: Tofu, avocado, hummus wrap with watermelon for dessert.
Sunday breakfast: Watermelon, cantaloupe, grapes
