I'M SORRY I WORRIED YOU

Sunday, June 30, 2013

My swelling is a chronic thing which has been treated since I was in my 30's.
All kinds of specialists have seen me and prescribed diuretics, ace bandages (which I cannot put on) and those tight stockings which I can't put on and cut into my ankle also.

One doctor told me I have venous insufficiency but do not have heart failure.

I asked the question , "Does anyone else have this problem" as I wanted to hear from those who have and what they did about it.

I did NOT go to the ER as I know what they would tell me after running the tests I have already had run.

My shoe was easier to put on this morning so I assume the swelling has gone down some but couldn't take the diuretic until I got home from church.

So I hope this will put your mind at ease. Thanks, my friends, for caring.

Irene

Irene I have the swelling in my feet and ankles. It comes and goes as well. I sometimes have difficulty putting my shoes on and my socks sometimes feel like they're cutting off the circulation. For me, it is a result of my kidney problem and I'm sure the other problems I have contribute to it as well.

Irene, I am so glad you explained because I was concerned.

No, I have never had that problem.

Irene have you tried drinking nettle tea...it's a natural diuretic and may help.
Apart from veins...I suppose they've thoroughly checked your kidney function?

Kind of reminds me of my DD - but she has all-over swelling, even with diuretics. I had an aunt with the same problem. Anyway, glad all is well. emoticon Shel

Thanks for the info Irene. I know mama's ankle/foot would swell after it had been broken and healed but you didn't say anything about a previous break or anything like that. Hope it keeps going down and stays down. ((HUGS))

That is good that you do not have heart failure but that other stuff is not good either and hope that they are wrong about it too

Maybe the heat swells it up or irritates it? I know its been hot and humid here in Texas. maybe a nice cool bag of ice on the foot will help?

Thanks for letting us know that your foot swelling is chronic, not a new condition and that you already have a diagnosis for it, venous insufficiency. Those two details would have made it much more clear. I'm glad the swelling went down some.
