Good News - Bad News

Sunday, June 30, 2013

I'll start with the good news. I finally got out for a bike ride today. It has been two weeks since I had a chance to get out and I am only 33% done with the city streets at best. The bad news is that my bike broke when I was about a couple of miles away from home. It wasn't too bad but it definitely wasn't ride able.

The next bad news is that no one was answering the phone. I called twice and left messages. The good news about that is I got extra steps in today. The bad news is that the FitBit didn't think I worked very hard when I was walking. I probably was walking slowly but I was also walking my bike. I think I worked hard but maybe I was just tired after biking for so long.

There is a happy ending. DH showed up with the car so I didn't have to walk all the way home and the bike is fixable. Maybe another ride tomorrow?

Poor Janet! You got a little strength training in along with you unplanned walk though, even though the fitbit doesn't realize it!

I'm glad it's fixable though. I know how much you want to get all the streets in this summer.

Good job! The setting out, the pushing the bike back home and bless DH for coming to the rescue. Glad your bike is fixable and you will be able to go for more rides. What a start to your day, hope the rest goes more smoothly.
Gotta go paint. Catch you later.

You probably burned more calories than the FitBit is telling you remember that it is just a tool try tracking the same walk here on SparkPeople or with other fitness trackers & see what they say. Getting back on the bike again tomorrow that is real motivation. emoticon
