My bf and I went to lunch today at our local Mexican restaurant, which is my favorite place to eat in town.
I ONLY ATE THREE TORTILLA CHIPS!!!
This is huge for me because I could eat the whole basket of those things in one sitting... and last time we went, I probably ate 2/3 of a basket. But today I was mindful about it, waited a while before digging in, and realized I only wanted a couple then was satisfied to wait for my entree.
My entree was my favorite, the chicken fajita. It's strips of chicken, big strips of green/bell pepper, and lots of white onions that get all lovely and sweet tasting when they're cooked. YUM. I don't get tortillas with it because the "innards" are better on their own. It also comes with "salad," which is some lettuce, pico de gallo (sp?), rice, and beans... I didn't get the salad either. I love the rice and beans, but I've decided I don't need them in addition to fajitas. If I want rice and beans, I'll order just that, no "entree."
But anyway, I ate my chicken and veg... usually I eat my boyfriend's onions too (he gets steak fajitas and french fries every time, but he doesn't like the onions). Today after I finished my plate, I realized I wasn't still hungry, so I chewed a piece of mint gum and drank more water instead of digging in to more onions. I know onions are healthy, but there's no point in consuming any more calories at all, healthy or otherwise, if I'm not hungry!
EDIT: Now that I look closer, I think that emoticon is a garlic, not an onion. Oh well. We'll pretend it's an onion.
