My sister in law called last week and asked us to drive 4 1/2 hours one way to pick up her daughter from her x husbands mother and have the niece stay with us "for a few weeks to a month" It's hard to stick to what I need to do with the added stress and a little girl who "is not an outside kind of girl". I can't even use my gym or the water park because she doesn't have a pass, and we don't have the funds to purchase one for her. This is testing my resolve, but I have so much I need to accomplish! I can't let bumps stop me!
I went to the doctor yesterday and was disapointed with some info. It just tells me I have to work harder. The doctor didn't even really acknowledge how far i've come which was sad for me, but I do still have a long way to go. Time to step it up!

Hope things are going better with your niece and getting your workouts in.

Hey, my doctor is great! She's in American Fork, not too far from you.

Thinking of you! emoticon emoticon

You are great for taking your niece even though it changes your summer plans. You didn't post why she's not an outdoor girl. If her parents aren't outdoor people she might not know what she's missing. If you are stuck in the house for up to a month, you could pick up some exercise DVD's for you and books and movies for her. You didn't say how old she is, but my mom had me exercising next to her as soon as I could walk. That's why I've never minded exercising. She could help you make healthy meals--kids eat what they cook! Make her feel special. The month will go fast and you can catch up in August. .

Congratulations on your weight loss. Most doctors won't praise success. Part of it is with managed care. It was easy to see weight differences when it was written on a chart. Now it's time consuming to look it up on the computer and, from their point of view, what matters is current weight. Most doctors have become service people, not much difference from your car or air conditioner repair person. Sparks is the place for lots of praise and support!

Be proud of watch you have accomplished on your journey. Don't let the doctors non-reaction put a damper on your success. On the other hand, you need to let family know that they need to give you money for her expenses. She may not be an outdoors child, but you need to change that and get her involved. Maybe getting her active would be good for both of you. I hope things will not be too, stressful for you.

Generally s[peaking, doctors are an uncaring bunch and managed care has only managed to make it worse.!

Make Today the Greatest Day of Your Life.
