My brother says: Heels up to heal up!

Saturday, June 29, 2013

I can't lay claim to that great phrase. It is my older brother that lives far away in Chicago who said it. Email is our way to communicate. At lunch time he has time to email after a Vegan lunch. Yes, he, the foodie of the family, is Vegan. I am not but think he is wonderful for doing that.

So it is nice to have a brother in my corner as I want to heal up. I admire my big brother as he is at proper weight, eating well and exercising.

Today I got my order of Hanes pants as all mine are wearing out past fixing. I still order men's as they have roomy pockets, and better built. Still in a big size which is disappointing. I do own two pair of one size down sweats for 'the day' I go down ten pounds or whatever it takes. 15? I really do not know but I am planning for the day anyway.

Still dreaming of under 200 but looking at 250 as my autumn goal.
I still need more dietary changes as DH dragged in a large bake it yourself
grocery store pizza, and I know the salt in that will ruin my weight for two or three days.

But in the store, I had him buy ice cream in flavors I do not like, with nuts in them, so no temptation there. He really does not need the calories either, but all I can do is plan for less temptations for me.

The weather today was 73 degrees, while way south of us it was over 100. I do not know how we got a cool snap but OH we are all enjoying it.
There have been pop up showers all during the day, but nothing hanging around very long. The little sad gray clouds jog away for greener pastures, crying as they go.

Sometimes you just need to make your own meal. My parents eat at different times from each other most of the time, so it's easier for them to make whatever they want, perhaps you just need to stick to your own food style, even if your husband isn't on your food side.

Remember, one step at a time, one meal at a time leads up to one pound at a time. You can do it!

You will get to those smaller size Hanes-- you have been making progress, every oz counts!

I love that you found a workaround for the ice cream-- I hate nuts, too, so any ice cream with nuts is going to be GROSS, way to plan it out!

    What a great catch phrase!

Your description of the sad little gray clouds crying as they leave gave me a great mental pic of clouds with sad faces....never knowing that the pastures will be better because they were there in the first place!

Heh! I am either very insightful or very morose this morning, lol, I hope it was the former!!!!

Hope those heels heal fast! I don't know how you avoid the temptation when you have goodies in the house. I'm awful about it.

Great that your hot weather broke. It will help you feel better, too.
