I was a bit up and down on hitting my food and exercise targets this week, but on average I'm doing well. I'm expecting to be back below 150 by next week, and I was able to wear a couple pairs of pants this past week that I couldn't squeeze into a month ago. Progress, for sure!
Yesterday was particularly fun - one of the professors in our department took a bunch of us out on his boat for the day. Not for anything official, just for fun. So I got a big boost of vitamin D and had the chance to go tubing for the first time in my life. Now that is a GREAT upper body workout! My arms, shoulders, and core are nice and sore today, in a good way.
I did sort of negate the positive effects by going out for a cocktail with some friends and then taking a walk last night that accidentally led right past an ice cream shop. I couldn't resist the siren song of a nice cup of chunky chocolate, but instead of beating myself up about going quite a bit over and calories and carbs (they only had one ice cream size - gigantanormous!) I instead went to sleep early, woke up, ate a small breakfast, and went for a run.
Now I've got a nice afternoon of shelling peas, cooking up some farmer's market meat, watching tv, doing housework, and maybe going for a walk to look forward to. Not a terribly exciting Saturday, but it's nice to be able to just decompress every now and then. And it's REALLY nice to be in such a good head space right now!
Have a great weekend, y'all. Happy sparking!
