In need of ideas of healthy eating options...

Saturday, June 29, 2013

I am going to a picnic on Monday and the group I am going with wants to take submarine sandwiches.

I know from experience that a sandwich of turkey breast, lettuce, tomato, onion, green pepper, cucumber, cubanella peppers is seven points plus for a six inch submarine on wheat bread.

What others would you suggest...we will be walking around the lake after dinner.

Also I am planning on going to see my hometown baseball team (go reds!!!) play on July 3rd, 2013 and that will be a late night game as it starts at seven ten PM.

Food items at the ballpark are known to be expensive and some things are unhealthy and I know that also you cannot bring food into the ball park...

So how should I handle this situation?.

First.... eat the inside of the sub... all those great veggies and be sure to bring along some fruit to munch while you walk on the bridge.
Ball park.... I feel your concern. Actually some parks are getting better.... I was at a spring training game that had great Asian fusion food!!! Bring an empty water bottle, you will find water fountains and you need to stay hydrated anyway. Make sure the meal you eat before you go to the park is high in protein which tends to stay with you longer. Don't forget peanuts and popcorn... not totally useless.
