If it's too good to be true...

Self love is really the only weight loss aid that works"- by Jenny Craig when I read this quote this morning, I got to thinking about ALL the quick fixes that are out there... right now the miracle cure for weight loss in our area is PLEXUS.... so many, many of my friends and co-workers have jumped on this bandwagon; a few months ago it was Thinogenics... it appears every few months a new MIRACLE is marketed that makes weight loss easy and effortless.. Now, I'm not saying that these products don't work, BUT what I do KNOW is nothing, nothing will work LONG term if the person trying to live a healthier life, doesn't commit to LIFESTYLE changes... healthier eating, exercising, water consumption... etc... It doesn't matter how much a person is able to lose on these programs without real change the WEIGHT will come back once the program is stopped.....

As for me I choose NOT to rely on any of these products, which means my weight loss has been slow... BUT I'm okay with that, as I am NOT on a diet... I am living a healthy lifestyle, which I will be able to maintain from here on out....

Have a wonderful week-end!

You are so correct! A few years ago, the big thing at my husband's office was Medifast. I jumped on the bandwagon & in 6 months, lost a ton of weight. A few months after I started eating real food again, I started having stomach issues that lasted for about 3 years. I would get so dehydrated I would need an IV. Eating healthy foods & exercising is the way to go. I so agree-this is about loving yourself and an ongoing process. I am a teacher, too. Teachers rock!!!!!! emoticon

emoticon I totally agree! I see friends and coworkers doing Adkins or South Beach or you name it and they make a progress and then stop - it is just not an attainable lifestyle! I tried telling them about Sparkpeople and how they are wasting their time with other programs - guess they don't wanna listen but boy will they be listening when my slow and steady progress pays off and they SEE that it works.

Amen my SF. Do it slow and change the lifestyle. Quick fixes are quickly lost.
