The thunderstorms continue...

Friday, June 28, 2013

We are continuing to get severe thunderstorms. Mother Nature has a cruel streak. Our ground is so saturated that it can't hold any more water. We had rain so hard hard that people had to pull over on the interstate due to no visibility. Even the football field at W&J College was totally under water. Hail was larger than a quarter. It looked like snow/ice covering the ground.
Ken and I went to Richelle's to make sure their pool was ok and their basement wasn't flooded. Everything was actually okay at her house. Just a little water in their garage. The water was over the skimmer in the pool. So took the top off the skimmer/filter to release some of the water pressure.
I can't wait for them to get home so I can see their pictures of the wild horses on the beaches by Outer Banks.
I have noticed several changes in our spark people points. Not sure yet if that is good or bad....just a bit confusing for me. But it doesn't take much to confuse me at times these days. LOL!!!
The doctor was happy with me on my appointment yesterday. My blood pressure was great at 120/72 and I have lost ten pounds since last month. She was very happy with me!!
Praying for safe travels for Richelle and Joe tomorrow as they travel home.
Be sure to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you and give them a great big hug!!! We are never promised tomorrow and need to take advantage of every day!!! Enjoy whatever life brings your way and have a wonderful weekend!!!
Blessings, love and hugs,
Helen

Good job losing 10# and the lower BP. Hope the weather has calmed down. I spent the last two traveling to the Midwest and there was rain by buckets and tornado warnigs. WE got out of it though.

Yeah, I noticed a difference in the Spark Points as well...It looks like they've combined a few things.

After only THREATENING to rain for many days, it's now been raining and making a big puddle in our back yard (we joke it's time to stock it with fish)...so of course with the dogs going in and out, the floors get dirtier sooner.

And we have seepage in the basement, and the humidity releases ancient odors of dog and cat accidents long past!

Helen, emoticon on the weight and the blood pressure!!!!

I am so tired of all these storms. I haven't had any water in the basement either but in some areas, there is actually standing water. I worry about all the large trees just uprooting. I don't want to complain since it could be worse and we could have no rain leading to a drought.

I'm still trying to get use to the new spark points page. I was shocked the first day I saw it and a confused.

Hope you're having a great weekend and wishing you some emoticon

Great news from the doctor, Helen. Woohoo! Congrats!

We are having the same weather here in RI. I would enjoy the concerts a lot more if the weather would cooperate - foggy, damp, drizzle - not fun sitting under an outdoor tent in it. It amazes me that it doesn't keep people away.

Happy Saturday!

Wow! That is a lot of water!! The weather sure has been bad right across North America it seems like. We finally have had two dry days back to back and needed it to dry things up a bit.
Wishing your loved ones a safe journey home (although maybe they should have extended their stay from the sound of it!) and that the weather gets more reasonable.
Very good news on your Dr. report, so happy to hear it! Keep up the great work!!

As I read people's comments here and on FaceBook it seems that either people are getting lots of rain or they are heating up a lot.

I'm glad your doctor liked your results!

Send the rain over here! Unfortunately, it would probably evaporate! We hit 116 today - it was forecast to be 118 at the airport.

Hopefully the rain will let up soon and soak in without leaving problems behind.

Congrats on the 10 pounds!
