Day 4- oh so sore. Day 5- feelin alive!

Yesterday (day 4 back on Spark) was another great day. I ate within ranges and burned calories like crazy.
I started the day down at the animal shelter with Bryn walking dogs for about an hour and a half until it just got too stinkin hot. I love that Owen does so well in the stroller for these walks. Bryn is wanting to spend what time she's home this summer volunteering there and since she's still not old enough to do it on her own the only way for her to do it is for us to go along. Owen loves it, he thinks it's hilarious when Bryn runs ahead and then runs back to us with the dogs. He just laughs and says "dog, dog, dog" :)
Later in the day we did more yard work (still in prep for Owen's first birthday party at the end of next month) for about an hour. Then we finished the night with an evening walk after dinner for total for the day calorie burn of- drumroll please... 886 calories! Woot!
While doing yard work I found myself unknowingly standing on an anthill and by the time I realized it they COVERED my foot and were starting to climb up my leg. So I did what any person with a healthy fear of bugs would do- kicked my shoes off then stomped and kicked wildly until I completely jacked my arthritic right knee out! Ouch! So today I am sore sore sore sore! My knee is killing me and every other leg muscle is feeling the work out they had too!
I'm actually liking feeling sore muscles from good hard work and exercise again, it's been awhile, but the sore knee I could do without.
Also, I had THE BEST dinner last night. Roasted chicken, fresh watermelon, and a green salad... which might sound boring, but it as so so good. The chicken was perfect, the watermelon is finally getting good (watermelon is my absolute favorite food- I wish it was good year round) and the salad... mmmmmm... that salad. Romaine, apple slices, grapes, cucumber, walnuts, and feta cheese with balsamic vinaigrette. I think I found my new favorite salad recipe!
Today (day 5) I'm taking it pretty easy to give my knee a break. So far I've eaten well- greek yogurt and watermelon for breakfast, and for lunch lettuce wraps with the ingredients from last night's salad (minus the walnuts, plus leftover chicken). I still don't know what I'm making for dinner, but I have lost of wiggle room tonight since breakfast and lunch were each around 250 calories. It's about 95 degrees here today so we're planning to swim once my hubby gets home from work. I'm going to try and swim with mostly arms so that I still burn a few calories tonight but don't over-do it with my knee. I've got eight hours on my feet tomorrow at work, so if the knee starts hurting even a little in the pool I'll throw in the towel (I guess in this case it's actually I'll put on the towel- but you know).
